Who's who in fiction? : a dictionary of noted names in novels, tales, romances, poetry, and drama (1906) by  Helena by Swan

Who's who in fiction?

This the little book aims at supplying information frequently sought for in larger works of reference without success. Its scope is limited to standard works within the sphere of English Fiction, both prose and verse, whether a novel, poem, or play.

Exceptions have been made in the cases of a few books, chiefly of Oriental origin, such as The Arabian Nights', which have been rendered familiar by English translations, and of the great medieval romances of chivalry, with which we have become acquainted through Middle-English versions.
