The hound of the Baskervilles (1902) Novel by Arthur Conan

The Hound of the Baskervilles another adventure of Sherlock

The Hound of the Baskervilles opens with a mini-mystery—Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson speculate on the identity of the owner of a cane that has been left in their office by an unknown visitor. ... Ever since, Mortimer reports, the Baskerville line has been plagued by a mysterious and supernatural black hound.

In 1645, Sir Hugo Baskervilles was the owner of Baskervilles Hall, a big house in Dartmoor. He was a cruel man who didn’t believe in God. One night, the man saw a strange, black animal. It looked a dog with huge fiery eyes. The huge dog jumped on Sir Hugo and killed him. Sir Hugo was never seen again.
