| Practical Spanish Grammar |
This book has been designed especially for beginners. The authors present Spanish grammar by comparing it to English grammar, so that students with no previous experience in foreign languages can follow along easily. At the same time, the material remains valuable for those who already have some background.
Key Features
1. Compact lessons
The grammar is divided into thirty lessons. Each lesson covers one topic completely, so students can understand the essentials without having to spread them across several chapters. This makes learning more efficient and less confusing.
2. Oral class drills
Every lesson includes oral practice in both Spanish and English. These drills train students to quickly recognize verb forms and sentence structures. The goal is fast, active practice in class—similar to mental arithmetic exercises. Teachers are encouraged to reuse earlier drills as quick reviews, keeping past topics fresh in the student’s mind.
3. Clear presentation of verb forms
Each tense is introduced with a regular verb first, followed by irregular verbs. This way, students see the regular pattern as a “background” and can easily notice how irregular verbs differ. Teachers are advised to highlight these differences to make irregular verbs less intimidating.
