Mo Salah daughters celebrate Xmas
Mo Salah daughters celebrate Christmas

By Adel Sherif
Each Christmas, loud voices rise claiming it is haram to celebrate with Christians or even greet them. Mohamed Salah has often faced criticism from radical Islamists for publishing pictures of his daughter and wife beside the Christmas tree, smiling and happy.

He was also attacked for visiting a Buddhist temple to meditate, an act that reflected his openness to peace and reflection rather than dogma.

When Salah was late to publish his usual Christmas picture one year, many Islamists and their followers speculated that he was angry with Liverpool and would no longer try to please the English people.

They failed to realize that Salah is, above all, a human being before any other identity.

Words of hate have often chased Mohamed Salah, but he has consistently chosen to share love instead of following hate.

“We need to change the way we treat each other. We need to change the way we look at people. We are all human beings.”  Mohamed Salah

“I want to be remembered as someone who brought happiness, not just goals.” – Mohamed Salah

Salah’s humility and humanity shine through his actions.

He has donated millions to hospitals, schools, and charities in Egypt, and he has spoken openly about combating Islamophobia by showing the world a different image of Muslims.

Despite the criticism, Salah continues to live authentically, embracing joy with his family and practicing kindness across cultures and religions.

Salah is not just a great footballer, but a true human being. His example reminds us that love, respect, and humanity are stronger than hate.
